What we know as a wingtip in the US is called a “full brogue” in Britain. Originating as a casual shoe the perforations in the leather allowed water to drain when the wearer crossed wet terrain such as a bog. Interestingly, the wingtip is now known for exactly the opposite: as a very smart, sartorial dress shoe that with its decorative perforations enhances and dresses up a suit or other menswear.
The Prospect wingtip is perfectly suited to burnishing as the decorative perfing catches more of the darker polish accenting its design. A true classic. Coordinating Burnished Tan Belt available.
